The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green [1] pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest [2] my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.23 Psalm KJV

This memorial website was created to remember my mother Mary Conner who was born in Texas on March 6, 1955 and passed away on December 1, 2011. You will live forever in my spirit, my mind, and my heart. You were my anchor and my rock and you still are.

Mary Louise Conner born March 6, 1955 the only child of Alma and HC Conner joined her parents in heaven on December 1, 2011.

She was an amazing person who I admired in her perseverance, her humor, and wisdom. I believe that a successful person is someone who is accomplished also in spirit and my mother embodied that. She was not only my mother but my teacher, my minister, my sister, and my best friend.

She devoted her life to being a good mother and to being a good person to anyone she met.

She liked to write, and was a poet at heart. An admirer of art, her favorite painter was Salvador Dali and her favorite poet was Langston Hughes. Her favorite musician above all was Sam Cooke, and the thought of him being up there serenading her makes me smile.

Her favorite color was purple, she liked strawberry ice cream, craved french fries for some strange reason, a good book, she adored animals, and to observe the weather. She didn’t smoke and never drank, she loved and had faith in God above all, and she loved me.

She was an independent person who was forced to give up her independence but she NEVER let that get her down. She laughed through the tears and she prayed through the trials. She inspired me in so many ways, in ways I can’t even put into words. She was a success as a daughter, as a mother, and as a person.

"The journey from the crib to the grave has many twists and turns. The journey takes us inward, searching our souls for answers to life's most complex questions. There will be hills and valleys to cross. Sometimes we stay longer in the valley. Know that God doesn't make mistakes, God will bring you through the valley. Life is a journey, LIVE IT."
